  • It takes time to get used to a hearing aid. It may help to begin by wearing your hearing aid for short periods – even as little as 15 minutes – and then gradually building up your wearing time. In a way, it's no different than adjusting to contact lenses. Speak to you hearing care professional, who can design a schedule tailored just for you.

  • Many problems can be fixed easily by your hearing care professional. Simply explain the problem and they can make minor, on-the-spot adjustments. Even if you have to return the hearing aid to the manufacturer, in most cases, it will be back in your hands (and ears) within three days.

  • There are many different types and models of hearing aids, and it’s usually just a matter of working with your hearing care professional in order to find the right model for you.
