Reciever in the ear (RIE)

RIE hearing systems are a combination of BTE and ITE models. Sounds are collected

by a unit that sits behind the ear. A receiver sends sound into the ear canal, and transmits the amplified sounds directly to the ear. The result is exceptional sound quality.

Behind the ear (BTE)

BTE hearing aids rest comfortably behind the ear. Sound is directed from the hearing aid through tubing into the ear canal, and typically BTE hearing aids offer the most amplification.

In the ear (ITE)

ITE systems are custom moulded to fit your ear, providing excellent sound quality and a comfortable fit. Sizes vary, from a virtually invisible Completely-In-The-Canal model (CIC) to Full Shell (FS).

This hearing aid style is custom moulded to fit you ear and belongs to ITE hearing aids. The difference is that the microphone is placed outside the ear canal which makes the hearing aid smaller. This hearing aid style can be found in Cosmo. You can watch how this hearing aid style will look on the ear below.
